"You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning" - Matt O
When it came time to decide where to celebrate the bachelor party for my upcoming wedding, I knew it wasn't going to be some typical destination like Vegas or Nashville. No, I just wanted to go somewhere I could crush beers outside with my best buds all day, drink whiskey around the fire all night, and sleep under the stars. Getting the exact location figured out, during the always-busy Memorial Day Weekend no less, was a little trickier, but we eventually settled upon a spot in Southern Utah (that I'm not at liberty to disclose the exact location of). Suffice to say, it's an area filled with towering buttes, cool water, plenty of shade, and not very many other people. Seventeen of us set out from Salt Lake and all miraculously made it to the right area by Friday night. Once settled in, the shenanigans began in earnest. Beer drinking began with breakfast and didn't end until late into the night. Surroundings were explored and yard games found a new home in the middle of a shallow river. Would-you-rather situations that should never be repeated by any person, ever, were pondered. Rarely did more than a minute go by without laughter filling the air. By Sunday morning, huge trash bags teetered under the weight of so many empties, but spirits were high, still riding that wave of good times that we'd been on all weekend. It was one of the most fun weekends of my life and I'm still blown away by how lucky I am to have so many good people I can call friends. Cheers boys, this one's for you.
